Teachers

Applicants must be younger than 55 years.

Recruitment is done to selected schools in the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. The academic year in the Middle East commences in August/September through to June/July of the following year.

Applications to schools are submitted in February, and then again in April.

Applicants/candidates must be qualified in the subject they are to teach and must have completed at least two years full time teaching, which excludes teaching practice. If your home language is not English, you will have to provide attested proof of IELTS to level 7 or equivalent.

Qualified implies four years of full-time study in the subject to be taught, including the education certification (PGCE).

If a job offer is forthcoming, you will be required to provide the following documentation:

  • Police clearance certificate.
  • Verification letter of degree, from SAQA.
  • Copies of SACE certificate and degree transcript, both to be attested by notary public and High Court;
  • Service letter from current school;
  • SAQA letter, copies of degree and transcript, SACE certificate, with attestations mentioned above, and police clearance, all to be attested by Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRC);
  • Attestation by embassy of the country where you will be teaching;

Your passport must be valid, in terms of period of travel and unused pages.

Jobs are easier to secure if you travel alone (single status visa), or as a legally married teaching couple.
